What are confidants?

A confidant is a person you can go to if you were harassed, -or- put into another negative situation, and/or when you need help and advice. The confidants meet up with students and volunteers to be a hearing ear. With the confidant you search for the best way to work on the issue, which includes bringing the problem to the board anonymously. If the student-s- wants to bring the problem to the board themselves the confidant will be the mediator in the meeting. The confidant informs the person in question about other options as well like complaints procedure, helpful/supporting organizations, and an official mediator. The confidant provides information about tackling undesirable behaviour, and registers instances of undesirable behaviour (anonymously).
